World Industrial Design Day

In celebration of World Industrial Design Day on 29 June, the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) invited designers from around the globe to initiate events reflecting this year's theme 'Industrial Design: the product of human creativity'.

First declared on June 29, 2007 on the occasion of Icsid's 50th anniversary, World Industrial Design Day is an international day of observance in recognition of the profession of industrial design. This international day of observance is celebrated in order to raise awareness about the benefits of industrial design in improving our quality of life.

Students from Icsid Member Schools were invited to design a poster reflecting this year's theme 'Industrial Design: the product of human creativity'. The posters of five students of the University of West Hungary (Institute of Applied Arts) were listed among the best fourteen. Two of them, Anita Lukacsi and Otilia Erdelyi got special honourable mention.
